On February the 3rd 1983, Finn Mueller was born in an old monastery hospital in Bensberg/ Germany.
He grew up in an artist family. Both his mother and grandmother where artists. Finn had early contact with art in different ways. Since he could hold a pen he made drawings and paintings: black and white, with colours and he experimented with all kind of materials to make collages.
From his grandmother he learned how to make sculptures from clay and how to work with wood and stone.
His needs and energy to express himself got many different opportunities. One day, when he was about seven years old, he painted all walls in his mother's apartment in Bonn.
Also all books and papers from school where colourful redesigned by Finn...
At the age of 10 he moved from Bonn/ Germany to Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
He learned to speak Dutch and went to primary and high school in Amsterdam.
He got into contact with Dutch artists and got more and more inspired by photography from all over the world.
In his life he has been travelling a lot with his mother and even as a child he could not get enough to see photos from deserts or other extraordinary places.
Several times he has been in the Sahara and many times in Scandinavia. Scandinavia is an important area for Finns inspiration as photographer. Every year he spends time at the house and atelier from his mother in the north of Sweden.
After high school he went one year to Australia and New Zealand.
During this time of travelling and working around the world, his decision to work as photographer became evident.
Back in The Netherlands, in the year 2005, he started to study photography and design in Amsterdam. During the first year he worked for the photographer Martin Woods in a photo studio in Amsterdam.
At the same time he worked as a photographer for several German newspapers.
